Dear Early Career Researchers,
As part of this year's "Psychology and Brain" (Psychologie und Gehirn, PuG) conference in Wuerzburg, the Early Career Researcher (ECR) Representatives of the DGPs, Section Biological Psychology and Neuropsychology, and the DGPA (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Psychophysiologie und ihre Anwendung) have organized two exciting pre-conference workshops. They will be held in parallel on Tuesday, 17.6. (9.00-18.00) and on Wednesday, 18.6. (9.00-13.00).
There are still a few places left – if you would like to take part, please register quickly!
In workshop 1, Dr. Alexander Britz will provide an introduction to the topic of how to integrate generative AI into the whole research cycle to streamline the research process.
In workshop 2, a team of researchers from the Psychological Methods and Statistics Lab at Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg will provide guidance through the “garden of forking paths” with the help of multiverse analysis for neuroimaging methods (fMRI and EEG).
Registrations can be made by sending an email to Laura-Isabelle Klatt (

Costs cover the workshop itself and coffee breaks (20€ for members of both, bioDGPs and DGPA, 70€ for members of either bioDGPs or DGPA, 120€ for non-members; you will be able to become a member as part of the registration process).
Be sure not to wait too long, as our workshops typically fill quickly!
More details about the workshops and our other activities at the PuG can be found here: https://www.pug2025.org/programm – click on "JuWi Program".
In addition, make sure to mark your calendar for our Young Scientists Meeting on Wednesday afternoon directly after the workshops (18.6., 14.00): The ECR Representatives will report on their activities in the past year and give an outlook on the activities planned for the coming year. Upcoming elections for the representative positions will then take place. For more senior researchers, Christiane Thiel and Peter Kirsch from the review board ("Fachkollegium") of the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG) will give a talk about their roles and the DFG grant review process, with time for answering your questions. For newer researchers and PuG first-timers, we will host roundtables on topics such as "how to conference", networking, and other topics that are especially relevant to ECRs.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Wuerzburg!
Best wishes,
Your ECR Representatives
Marie Mückstein and Anne Saulin (DGPA, www.dgpa.de)
Matthias Sperl and Helena Hartmann (bioDGPs, www.dgps.de/fachgruppen/fgbi)
